PIC: Monde Mphambaniso celebrates his winning goal

Ten-man Marumo Gallants maintained their 100% record in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over second-tier Pretoria Callies at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Friday.
The match was the first of this year’s competition and looked to be heading for extra-time before Monde Mphambaniso netted the winner in the first minute of injury-time at the end of the game.
The 32-year-old has not scored in the league for Gallants this season, but has his second cup goal of the campaign after also netting in the Carling Knockout.

Gallants had won all four of their previous Nedbank Cup Last 32 games and advanced once again in what always looked a tricky tie.
This despite losing Siyabulela Shai to a second yellow card early in the second half, just the second red card of his career and his first since November 2013.
But Gallants have a special affinity with the Nedbank Cup having lifted the trophy in 2021 and been beaten finalists in 2022.

They battled their way through and will fancy their chances of going deep into the competition.
